The Uttar Pradesh government is implementing a program to utilize the services of trained youths in agriculture for the welfare of the farmers. The objective of the program is to provide all facilities through agriculture graduate “One Staff Shop” to the farmers under the banner of Krishi Kendra(Agri Junction)

These Krishi Kendra will provide following facility under one roof:

  • Recommendations for soil test facility and use of fertilizer.
  • Supply of all farm inputs like seeds of high quality, fertilizers, bio-fertilizers, micro-nutrients, wormi- compost , pesticides and insecticides.
  • Arrange availability of farm implements on hire-basis.
  • Extension services and direction of farm.

In addition to above, Krishi Kendra will establish Information science center to ensure repair and maintenance of farm implements, sale of cattle feed, farm products and processed farm products, season/marketing and other related information.

State government will provide following facilities to farm trained entrepreneur.

  • To help in getting license for farm related business activity and re-imbursement of license fee.
  • To help in getting loan from banks and arrangement of interest subsidy @4%.This subsidy will be retained by the bank as back ended subsidy and will be credited in the account of beneficiary.
  • 50% of the rent of the premises, not exceeding Rs.1000/.
  • Provide training to agriculture entrepreneur for establishment of independent Krishi Kendra Business.
  • Provide small farm implements on hire basis.

The farmer can get quality, farm inputs an farm direction at “One Staff Shops” established at all developmental blocks and tehsil head quarter. Along with this, young agriculture graduates will be capable of self-employment. In the financial year 2016-17,target for establishment of 1000 Agri-junction was set(including 399 remaining in 2015-16)in which grant of Rs. 60,000/-is admissible by the government but letter for financial/administrative sanction has been sent by Directorate vide letter no. Prashar-57 dt. 26.04.2016 to Principal Secretary (Agriculture), GOUP. The government has issued sanction of total amount of provision for this scheme, Rs.70,500/- vide letterno.518/12-3-2016-100(4)/2015 dt.29.04.2016.But the government has not issued administrative sanction of the scheme. After that, in reference to government letter no.684/12-3-2016-100(4)/2015 dt.o3.06 2016 ,request for administrative sanction mentioning status of Krishi Udyami Swavlamban Agri Junction Yojna was sent to government vide directorate letter no.Prashar 418 dt.04.06.2016.Inlast financial year 2015-16,the scheme was implemented according to Government Order no.1681/12-3-2015-100(4)/2015 dt.02.11.2015.In the above G.O., provision of Rs.42,000/- per center for three years has been made.In the current financial year, calculation of amount of interest subsidy was done simply at the rate of 5% on Rs.3.50 lacs which comes to Rs. 52,500 per center and proposed by the directorate. This calculation was wrong as per banking calculation. Administrative sanction of the proposed scheme was given on the basis of Rs.42,000/- per center as interest subsidy on loan with the condition that the scheme will be implemented as per provision mentioned in government order no. 1681/12-3-2015-100(4)/2015 dt.02.11.2015.
