Paddy

Jhulsa

Shri Rajiv Kumar suggested that drain out the water as much as possible from the field when the symptom of Jhulsa is seen and spray Streptomycin 90%, 15 gm of Tetracycline Hydrochloride mixed with 500 gm Copper Oxy chloride 50% w.p.

Gandhi- Bug

Sri Rajesh Kumar Dwivedi, representative of progressive farmer made aware of the Gandhi Bug insect menace in paddy crop. in reference to above, Sri Rajiv Kumar, Scientific Assistant suggested to spray 2.5 liter of Azadirectin 0.15 %E.C. dissolved in 600-700 liter water per hectare.

Stem Borer

Shri Rajiv Kumar, Scientific Assistant suggested to spray Carbofuran 3% C.G.20-30kg or 18 kg.Cartop Hydrochloride 4% per hectare in 3-5 cm still water.

Dr. L.P. Awasthi told that the termite menace was found in paddy in low rain area and root borer in high rain area. He suggested the use of 2.5 liter Chlorpyriphos 20% E.C.per hectare with water of irrigation.

Sheath Blight

Shri Atma Ram, farmer representative told about the menace of sheath blight in paddy crop.

In reference to above, Dr. L.P. Awasthi suggested to spray Carbandism 12%+750 gm of Mancojeb 63%w.p dissolved in 550-650 liter water.

Milo/Millet/Maize

Shri Rajiv Kumar, Scientific Assistant told that there is not much problem of insect/disease in food grain crops sown in Kharif season.

Black Split Gram/green Split Gram

Shri Pooran Lal Kushwaha, Representative of progressive farmer told about Yellow mosaic disease in crop of Black Split Gram/green Split Gram.

Shri Umesh Chandra discussed in detailed about the control of above disease and informed that the white flee is the carrier of above disease. So the infected plant should be uprooted and destroyed and spray 1 liter Dimethoate 30%E.C. or 250 ml. Emidacloprid 17.8% solution dissolved in 500-600 liter water per hectare 2-3 times at an interval of 10-15 days, as needed, to check the disease spread.

Dr. B. Kiran Gandhi, Scientist, IIPR, Kanpur suggested to sow IPM 2-3, a yellow mosaic resistant variety of Split Green Gram and early variety of Split Black Gram.

Haired Guidar

Shri Rajiv Kumar suggested to spray 1.o kg Bacillus Uringiansis (B.T.) dissolved in 400-500 liter water as needed at an interval of 15 days per hectare to control Haired Guidar.

Fruit Borer

Shri Rajiv Kumar, Scientific Assistant, suggested spraying of 1.25 liter Quinolphos 25 % E.C. or 2 liter Fenthoate 50% E.C. dissolved in 600-700 liter water to control it.

Ground Nut

Dr. L.P. Awasthi informed that there is problem of Tikka in nearby area of Lakhimpur in Ground nut crop and suggested to spray Mancojeb or 2.0 kg soluble powder of Jineb 75 % dissolved in 500-600 liter water as per requirement at an interval of 10-15 days.

Sugar Cane

Shri Rajiv Kumar suggested to use 10 cards per hectare Tychograma Kilonis to control the menace of top shoot borer insect in sugarcane crop under integrated pest management and in case of losses crossing the economic level, spray 1.5 liter Chlorpyriphos 20%E.C. dissolved in 800-1000 liter water per hectare for its chemical control.

Sesame (Til)

Shri Rajiv Kumar, Scientific Assistant, informed about Filodi disease in Sesame that this disease is caused by Micro plasma. He suggested spraying 1 liter Methyl-O- Dimetan 25 E.C.per hectare to control this disease.

Sun hemp

Dr. L.P. Awasthi informed that the problem of mosaic virus in crop of sun hemp in Pratapgarh is very high. He suggested to spray1.00 ml Emidacloprid 17.8% solution dissolved in 1 liter water for its control.

Vegetables

Shri Rajdhari pal, Horticulture Inspector (Plant protection section) informed that the time of sowing of Potato, Peas, Cauliflower, Cabbage, Radish, Carrot, Beet, Tomato, Brinjal, Spinach, Chili, Onion, Garlic, Coriander, Methi and Sonf is started. He suggested using healthy and disease resistant variety to prevent it from insects/disease, sow after seed treatment and soil treatment before sowing.

Horticulture

Amla

Shri Rajesh Kumar Dwivedi, Representative of progressive farmers district Pratapgarh has informed about the black spot disease in the crop of Amla. Dr. L. P. Awasthi informed that there is no specific remedy to control this disease.

Pomegranate

Dr. L. P. Awasthi informed that for biological control for fruit flees and fly, treat a piece of 5x5x1.2 mm plywood by dipping it in Methyl Uninol, Ethyl Alcohol or Malathione 50% E.C.4:6:1 solution and put in the field for week. This will attract fruit fly. Collect them and destroy.

Other Subjects

Shri Umesh Chandra, Deputy Director, Central Integrated Pest Management Center, Luck now suggested that the farmers should see the Registration Number, Date of Production and blue or green color triangle on the wrapper at the time of purchase the farm protection chemicals.
